The Other Michael Davis never played bass guitar with the MC5, nor any other instrument professionally with anybody else, as far as he can remember, yet he has maintained a musical presence across Los Angeles for the last forty years in the fields of press, radio, and retail. He’s a writer, but he wouldn’t know a city of glass if it fell on him, preferring music mags like Creem and Option, amongst a host of lesser-known, fly-by-night/crash-by-mid-afternoon affairs. So what you get for starters are current interviews with LA New Music heavies and expanded previously published (or not) pieces from the late 20th century.
